The Richmond – ECIA Competitive Grant Program is funded through the Chevron Modernization Project Environmental and Community Investment Agreement (ECIA) that was entered into between the City of Richmond and Chevron. Funding will be available over the next 10 years to fund programs that support community, youth and youth sports. Grants will be awarded on an annual basis and awards will range from $2,500 to $50,000. Non-profit organizations that provide services focused on community, youth, and youth sports services to Richmond residents are all eligible. Non-profits must have 501(c)(3) tax status or plan to use a fiscal sponsor that has 501(c)(3) tax status.

The Richmond-ECIA Grant Program Request for Application (RFA) was released on Thursday, February 8, 2018, on the website and also the City's BidsOnline™ System. Register as a vendor! When registering your organization on BidsOnline, you can select other categories that are appropriate for your organization but make sure you select category "#99888 – Not-for-profit organizations"to ensure that you receive appropriate updates.
The deadline to submit an application and all relevant attachments is Friday, March 16, 2018, at 5:00 p.m. Materials must be submitted in printed form to the City Manager's Office. Please review the ECIA Grant Guidelines as changes have been made to the Eligibility Requirements, Grant Award Amounts and Categories, and Submission Requirements.
In 2017, city staff in partnership with the Richmond Community Foundation, offered free capacity-building workshops. These workshop were intended to provide organizations the opportunity to enhance and acquire new skills. The session listed below, represent the breadth of training provided and staff is currently finalizing the schedule for capacity-building sessions for 2018.
